Taylor Swift helps Calvin Harris’s ‘ex’ song return to the charts
‘The Taylor Swift Effect‘ is truly not to be underestimated!
Recently, Taylor Swift surprised everyone when she performed two special acoustic mashups, This is What You Came For – Gold Rush and The Great War – You’re Losing Me, for the audience at the Liverpool (UK) leg of The Eras Tour.
This Is What You Came For is a hit song by Rihanna and the person behind it is Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend – Calvin Harris. So when Taylor Swift performed this song, it immediately caused quite a stir.
Thanks to the Taylor Swift effect, This Is What You Came For has returned to the Spotify Global Chart at position 159 with 1.29 million streams. Although this ranking is not too high, it is an impressive achievement for a song that was released more than 8 years ago.

TMZ once revealed that Taylor Swift secretly participated in composing This Is What You Came For under the pseudonym “Nils Sjoberg” in order to release the song without being overshadowed by her love affair with Calvin Harris.
However, later, Calvin Harris’ blunt statement that he did not collaborate with Taylor Swift made her feel unappreciated, which is believed to be the reason why the two decided to break up.
Not only that, Taylor Swift’s confirmation of co-writing the song This Is What You Came For made Calvin Harris very angry at that time, the male artist indignantly shared: “I know you’ve finished your tour and need someone to trample on, but I’m sorry, I’m not that person. I won’t allow it. I think if you’re happy in your new relationship, you should focus on it, instead of trying to attack your ex-boyfriend. Please focus on the positive aspects of your life because you already have a wonderful world.”
