The brand new batch of episodes simply contains the present’s finest but, its tone solidified, its pacing and plotting perfected. Joe’s ever-present voice-over is filled with razor-wired bon mots about his neighbors, and the writers well focus their lacerating observations on a sure type of carb-phobic, wellness-hacking, vaccine-flexible, ceaselessly smug and surveilled Northern Californian milieu. In Madre Linda, Joe sneers, enjoyable is “glorified productiveness.” Reader, he’s obtained some extent.
