You can migrate your GTA Online character to PS5 and Xbox Series X

Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online available Tuesday on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – an enhanced version with new gameplay elements. If you have played Grand Theft Auto Onlinethat you might have because the game has been out for so long, you can transfer your character to new systems.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to work for all players – especially those who have migrated their characters to Windows PC. Rockstar tweeted from its support account to confirm the issue, noting that they are working on a fix.

“We are currently working to resolve the issue with GTA Online profile migration for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S where people migrating from PS4 or Xbox One are currently blocked due to previously migrating those accounts to PC and will update everyone when this works as intended,” Rockstar tweeted. No estimated time has been given for repair.

The process of moving your character is very simple, if you are not currently blocked. Once your Social Club is charged to your dashboard, you will be able to switch your character right at the start of the game, Rockstar said in a blog post earlier this month. “This move includes any Player-created Characters, GTA$, Progress, Stats, Vehicles, Attributes, Weapons, Clothing, and Jobs,” Rockstar wrote.

Story Mode progress can also be switched, albeit only once. Rockstar’s has a blog guide in early March.
