Yermin Mercedes is apparently not retiring

Chicago White Sox slugger Yermin Mercedes, currently with the Triple-A club, shocked the team Wednesday with the apparent announcement of his retirement on Instagram. It came out of nowhere, and the group made it clear that they didn’t know what was going on.

Well, after 24 hours and that’s all a wake-up call.

Yermin Mercedes is not retiring

Mercedes herself has decided on Instagram to announce her decision and delete her previous post.

Now it is very easy for those who are mocking this decision on social media in Mercedes. However, it is clear that something was wrong that forced him to retire in the first place. His mental state should be kept in the collective minds of fans and the White Sox organization.

But we don’t want to get too deep into it, because that will deal with Mercedes. Instead, the good news here is that one of the MLB stories in 2021 will not suddenly leave the game.

Mercedes started the season hot and was a fan favorite throughout the league. Then came Tony La Russa hit him with a punch to make it home, apparently causing him to fall, leading him to Triple-A.

But Mercedes is no stranger to minors, and if it continues to do really well, it should really be a promotion. He has hit .298 / .365 / .632 in 15 Triple-A games this season.

Mercedes is not retired and this is great news for him, the fans and the White Sox. But please don’t forget to think before jumping to make a joke about his situation on social media.
