Jonathan Lisco is no stranger to hit TV series, he has overseen critically acclaimed TV series Southland, Pause and catch fire, and Animal Kingdom. But none of his series has hit the tropics quite like Yellow jacket, admirers have go down the rabbit hole fan theory in ways not seen since True Detective or Lost.

“It’s like coming to us,” he says with a smile.

The Showtime program tells the macabre story of a high school girls soccer team (the famous yellow jersey team) whose plane crashed in the Canadian mountains in 1996. Young women who survived, an assistant coach , and the head coach’s two sons then lived for 19 months in the wilderness, resorting to occultism and cannibalism. 25 years later, four women — Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), Taissa (Tawny Cypress), Nat (Juliette Lewis) and Misty (Christina Ricci) — are still grappling with the horrors of what goes on in the woods.
