Yankees fan spits Jason Varitek’s daughter during Red Sox game

If someone knows Yankees the fan threw a ball at Alex Verdugo, would you mind telling him he got the news yesterday thanks to another fan’s defamation? What did you say? Spat? That’s right, a spitting event, again at Yankee Stadium and again against the Boston Red Sox.

After one fan decided to be cute and make herself the headlines by throwing a baseball at a Red Sox player on the field, another decided to up the pitch and pluck about the Red Sox catcher’s daughter Jason Varitek.

This incident also played out in the 3-1 win, in which the pitcher was ejected and permanently banned from all Major League ballparks. New York has now won two games against their rivals, including a 9-1 win that came on Sunday.

Varitek’s wife took to social media to voice her concern for her child.

The New York Yankees may be winning the game, but their fans are causing a stir for all the wrong reasons.

At this point, the Yankees have to look at their fans and boil. Okay, the Red Sox is a rival, a historic opponent, but what kind of pointless behavior is this? First, someone wanted to get attention and threw a baseball at a player. Now, another fan wants to spit on a Red Sox fan?

What makes this worse is not the gender of the individual but the fact that it is a child being spat on. That raises legitimate outrage and also ensures that the Yankees will ban the individual as well. Also, this will be a lesson for Major League Baseball in general. Procedures must be carried out so that not a single child is in danger.

If you recall, in Washington DC, shots were fired at the Battle of Nationals and Padres leaving fans fearing for their lives. Both fanbases join forces to protect each other In fact, children enter the game and fear for their safety.

While this incident cannot be compared with that shock and horror, a child should never attend a sporting event and fear and most certainly never spit. For one, it’s inhumane, and two, it’s vile.

A note to Boston fans, you are all not exempt from this news either. The Red Sox are well aware that their fans have committed some unforgivable acts in the past.

In the end, this is really embarrassing for Yankee fans. Furthermore, despite clearly wanting to defeat the Red Sox by any means possible, if the late George Steinbrenner saw this, he would swoon over these actions.
