Xenogears Remaster Release Date Rumor

Xenogears Remaster Release Date

Square Enix hasn’t announced a remake of Xenogears yet, but we’d be surprised if we don’t get one in the near future. Chrono Cross composer Yasunori Mitsuda, who just did some work on the updated music for the remaster, is also the composer for Xenogears. He could easily have done some work on that game while he was working on Chrono Cross.

Xenogears writer/director Tetsuya Takahashi left Square Enix after the game’s release and founded Monolith Soft, the company that produced the Xenosaga and Xenoblade series. However, Square Enix owns the rights to Xenogears, so the remake can continue, even without Takahashi’s opinion.

What will be included in the remaster?

So far, at least Square Enix has upgraded the textures in its recent fixes. That could be the scope of improvements beyond some quality of life improvements like save state.

Ideally, it would be the SaGa Frontier treatment. Unfortunately, most of the second disc ranks as a visual novel. It would be nice to see that content as it was originally intended. Unfortunately, the chances of that are close to zero.

What platforms will it release on?

A remake of Xenogears is likely coming to all current platforms. The performance requirements for the game are practically nil, so it should be able to run on almost anything.

If it launches now, we guess it will be on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. Xenogears Remaster Release Date Rumors, News, Trailers, Etc.
