Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Release Date Gets Moved Up

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 just had a release date pushed up, which is surprising in an industry often rife with delays. The game was previously slated for a September 2022 release, but Nintendo decided to shuffle things up instead of releasing it in the fall. Fortunately, the new date falls at a time when major releases are in need.

What is the new Xenoblade Chronicles 3 release date?

Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s release date is July 29, 2022. The Switch exclusive version has been given a boost by two months, which is notable because of how often we’ve seen delays. In fact, it was only recently that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel was delayed to 2023, so Nintendo will likely shuffle the releases going forward to fill the void.

Xenoblade Chronicle 3 was one of the surprise announcements at the February 2022 Nintendo Direct. Before that, we had little indication that it was in the works. However, four and a half years of development time is roughly what previous installments in the series have included, so we can expect a game of scale with Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Then we were lucky that the release was moved up. The previous game was huge in size and content, and players will be relieved to know that there aren’t any other major releases scheduled around July 29. However, the remake does. Live A Live is launching last week, which might put some players in a hurry.

A new trailer has debuted alongside the release date announcement giving us a look at the new cast. Notably, players will be able to team up with seven of them at once, which makes for a huge party. Additionally, a collector’s edition was also announced, available only through the My Nintendo Store, which comes with an art book and steel bookcase.

Fortunately, there was no long wait. Once again, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launches on July 29, 2022.
