Xbox is digitally re-releasing 76 classic games for the original Xbox and Xbox 360 as part of its 20th anniversary celebration.
Monday, November 15 marks the 20th anniversary of the day Xbox remote control. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the video game on Xbox console, the Xbox team held a special digital event online. Xbox 20th Anniversary Celebration combines a nostalgic look back at moments in Xbox’s history with some exciting announcements. One of those announcements is that Xbox is bringing back 76 classic Xbox games through backwards compatibility, which are now available for purchase and play on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
The list of 76 games covers many great franchises from Xbox’s past, some of which will leave Xbox fans wondering how they weren’t included in the backwards compatibility program before. Examples include FEAR Franchising, Max Payne trilogy of works, Star Wars games like Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and Starfighter: Special Edition, few Dead or alive games, and many other interesting titles.
Xbox’s new backwards compatibility are games that many people may have lost over time. While it’s disappointing when the show comes to an end, it’s also exciting that Xbox was able to assemble a final group of 76 games released for Xbox’s 20th Anniversary. Few expected any additional games to be released when the show was put on hold. And never say never, because maybe publishers and license holders will be more open to including Xbox and Xbox 360 the game becomes available again in 5 or 10 years.
