In a tight vote this weekend, the Wyoming GOP voted to strip Representative Liz Cheney of her recognition as a member of the Republican Party.
Saturday’s 31-29 vote in Buffalo, Wyoming, by the state party’s central committee, followed a vote by local GOP officials in about a third of the 23 counties of the state. Wyoming no longer recognizes Cheney as a Republican,” AP reported.
This is Wyoming GOP’s second rebuke to the infamous Never-Trumper Liz Cheney. In February, Wyoming Republicans voted to officially censor Cheney because she voted to impeach former President Donald Trump. She defended her impeachment vote after the censorship.
“My vote on impeachment is bound by the oath I swore to the Constitution. Wyoming citizens know that this oath does not bend or give in to politics or partisanship,” she said in a statement.
“I will always fight for Wyoming values and support our Western way of life. We have major challenges ahead as we move forward and counter the disastrous policies of the Biden Administration. I look forward to continuing to work with officials and citizens across Wyoming to be the most effective voice and advocate in protecting our families, industries, and communities. ”
Liz Cheney has upended the challenge to her House leadership position, only to stay on Speaker Pelosi’s January 6 sham committee. Cheney faces a near-impossible reelection. According to the latest information Polls in Wyoming in the 2022 race, the incumbent congresswoman will be annihilated by nearly any challenger.
CNN’s “The Lead” is hilarious discuss the possibility of Cheney running for the next presidential term.
“Is there a lane for Liz Cheney in New Hampshire in 2024?” CNN asked.
“Yes. It’s called the Democratic primaries,” commented Cruz. Liz Cheney wasn’t amused.
I know you’re supporting the secessionist vote, Ted. But my party, the Republican party, saved the Union. You have sworn an oath to the Constitution. Act like it. https://t.co/YyQ1XHRhCY
