WWE SmackDown results, grades: Vince McMahon and Finn Balor return

WWE welcomed fans back in a big way as Seth Rollins built momentum on a night of focus on building Money In The Bank.
There was a sense of jubilation in the air as the wrestling giant’s blue brand was energized by a sizzling live audience in Houston, Texas.
Starting things off, Vince McMahon had a typical entrance resplendent with the crowd singing his input theme before he simply asked: ‘Where have you been?’
Then he got out and it was time for our stacked opening match that pits Roman Reigns and The Usos against Edge and The Mysterios (more on that below).
It wasn’t a night full of big surprises, but things paid off soon after night when Sami Zayn stepped out and cut her own input to stop fans from singing along.
Instead, he urged them to join him in his call for justice as he claimed WWE management should only present him with a Money In The Bank contract by Sunday.
Better ~ better, he met Finn Balor again who put him out and made an emphatic statement on his first night back.
Another notable moment was the main event, when Seth Rollins landed a big win on Money In The Bank, with Kevin Owens – who hit the sad Baron.
orbin with a Stunner before the bell – get me and Shinsuke Nakamura out with a huge elbow dropping down a ladder over the announcement desk.
This caused Big E to open up in the ring as SmackDown Savior took a step into another ladder and scored the winning goal.
Edge takes down Roman Reigns, Baron Corbin sadly starts CrowdFunder and Liv Morgan has her moment
There was a lot of emotion in the opening match, especially since it marked Dominik Mysterio’s first match in front of a live audience.
Everyone plays their part, with audiences loving Edge and Mysterios’ offense and making Roman and his cousins a big win.
After the bell, the R-Rated Superstar is locked in a cross using a piece of steel chair, costing the Tribe Leader days before they met at Money In The Bank.
Edge could be on a collision course with Seth Rollins after the latter interrupted him backstage and delivered a stunning warning to his new rival.
After Balor’s return, the good times continued as Tegan Nox and Shotzi stepped out into the tank of the latter to face Natalya and Tamina in a rematch from last week.
Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega rowing during the commentary, ended up missing in the ring, causing a distraction, giving Nox a big win and a chance for her team’s future Women’s Team Title.
After a post-match brawl, Morgan stood up to the great reaction from the live audience, and WWE could have done much worse than give her a career win and briefcase in. Sunday.
SmackDown Women’s Title continued some good action in the ring tonight as Bianca Belair overcame Carmella by KOD in a very hilarious match as Pat McAfee’s comment really added to the match.
The WWE’s EST deserves a great response from fans before, during and after the match, and it will be interesting to see who her next challenger is.
The blue brand’s women’s division is heating up even without Bayley and Sasha Banks (for now), with Toni Storm confirmed to launch next week.
Elsewhere, Chad Gable had some backstage promotion and Otis attacked Cesaro before they met in the ring for what promised to be a physical clash.
What we’ve seen is exactly that, but it didn’t last long enough before Chad Gable hit DQ, which earned him a European-style Uppercut and previously delighted the crowd. . Otis cuts off momentum and stand taller than his new opponent.
Backstage, Kayla Braxton asked Paul Heyman about Edge and received a confident answer from the Clan Chief’s special counsel as he vowed Reigns would ‘defeat all evil’ at Money In The Bank.
However, Big E interrupted him before he could finish his shot because he had promised to win the contract and promote Edge before the main event.
Baron Corbin sadly appeared looking absolutely awful with his hair and beard growing longer after his recent lucky dip.
The poor former king cut a great commercial about his financial struggles, even launching a CrowdFunder for fans to help as he insisted if things get worse, he I will have to move in with my wife and I.
He was interrupted by Kevin Owens, who wasn’t too kind to Corbin to ask for help (and said KO had money to spend by organizing his wardrobe), handing over the Stunner we both all know coming.
