The upcoming open-world horror game Wronged Us has been described as having a terrible mentality and a cinematic story.
Wrong us turned heads when its gameplay trailer was shown at the Golden Joystick Awards, with much intrigued by its open-world gameplay and premise. More details about Wrong us and everything it entails is pretty hard to come by, but the developer’s website has provided a bit more insight into what horror fans can expect from the game when it finally launches. in 2023.
According to the website, Wrong us will be a “cinematic story game” that will let the player explore a small but detailed town. Along the way, Wrong us Players will have to endure the psychological horrors and monsters they will have to fight. NS Wrong us game trailer showed some of the threats the player will encounter during the course of the game, such as a terrifyingly tall man and several types of monsters crawling on the walls.
Some horror games leave players defenseless, but that won’t happen for Wrong us. Fans shouldn’t expect an over-the-top shot by any means, but Wrong us The game trailer shows the player character using a shotgun to fight off the monsters. The fight looks similar to classic survival-horror games, which makes sense as the game is taking direct inspiration from games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.
Wrong us is drawing inspiration from more than just survival horror icons like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, in spite of. According to the game’s official website, another big inspiration for it is none other than FromSoftware’s Dark souls Franchising. Especially, Wrong us taking signal from Dark souls when it comes to its world design and the quests the player receives from the NPCs. Wrong us there will be no UI telling the player where to go, like that Dark souls series, the game will not hold the player’s hand.
As one might imagine, a psychological horror game inspired by Dark souls, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill will be quite dark and so the devs are expecting a PEGI 18 or M rating for Mature. Wrong us there will be “violence and gore”, so when it comes out in 2023 it’s almost guaranteed to get one of those ratings from the rating boards.
Wrong us monster design and the game’s eerie atmosphere has caught the attention of horror game fans, and it will be interesting to see how the final product plays out.
