WoW players conduct a sit-in to protest Activision Blizzard

Details of lawsuit against Activision Blizzard of the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing was made public Wednesday night. The lawsuit includes multiple accounts of harassment and discrimination against women in the company. While many players, fans and former employees react to online reports, a group World Of Warcraft the actors held a sit-in rally while also raising more than $9,000 for Black Girls Code.
The DFEH lawsuit alleges that its investigation found that women at the company “virtually confirmed that working for Defendant was like working in a brotherly family, where it always involved employees male staff members drank alcohol and forced female employees to sexually harass them without any response.”

Participating players have been “sub-locked”, meaning they have already paid for the subscription months and still have time on their accounts. “Most of us canceled our subscriptions, we were using the rest of the game to take up server space and raise awareness, and it worked,” one of the organizers said. tell PC Gamer.
While sitting on the steps of downtown Oribos, Fence Macabre is also working to raise funds for Black girl code, an organization that works to “empower young women of color ages 7-17 to embrace the current technology marketplace”. “Above all: We stand in solidarity for the victims and survivors of Blizzard’s hostile work culture, possibly those who were forced to leave, who continue to endure suffering such as we say, and most of: those who are no longer with us.”
Players are also speaking out in support of the victims and calling for change on the subreddit of World Of Warcraft, with support from members of other Activision Blizzard game subreddits.
