Posted by Alex Bonilla on May 14, 2021

We are pleased to announce the latest addition to the Basketball Reference: we now have women’s olympic statistics back in 1976, the first Summer Olympics featured a women’s basketball tournament. This complements our existing men’s Olympic basketball data.

In the Teams section of our International index, a table has been added with each country’s historical achievement at the Olympics, in case you want to clarify USA Women’s Team was in this contest. There is also a Women’s Olympic season table shows who received which medal in each competition.

We also have box scores for every women’s Olympic match, from single-leg round-robin matches at the 1976 Olympics come 2016 gold medal match between USA and Spain. Players who have participated in the Olympic Games, such as Lauren Jackson and Diana Taurasi, now has international pages.
