Woman hospitalized after capturing photos of marriage proposal in New Jersey

WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. — A wedding proposal impressed a New Jersey girl to shortly pull out her digital camera and seize the magic unfolding.

Misplaced within the second, the 81-year-old photographer was attempting to snap the proper shot when she misplaced her footing and fell. She ended up within the hospital.

Betty Rifici’s good deed resulted in damage.

“I believed it was actually cute so I began to take footage. I did not understand I used to be on the tip of the grass and I fell backwards about two and a half ft down. I landed on my proper foot after which I rolled.”

This all occurred Sunday on the Riverwinds Restaurant in West Deptford, a suburb simply south of Philadelphia in New Jersey.

Rifici stated proper after the girl stated “sure,” the couple rushed over to assist her, carrying her to security and calling for assist.

Rifici underwent a tough surgical procedure Wednesday to restore her foot, and the household stated she’s doing nicely.

“She’s an exquisite girl, and we’re grateful for somebody to assist her and be so type to her,” stated Sharon Zola, Rifici’s daughter. “She’s our household’s coronary heart, she means a lot to us.”

Rifici was desperately in search of the couple to thank them.

“I used to be in a lot ache, I did not get their names,” she stated. “I might like to search out out who they’re so I may thank them and get along with them and provides them the images.”

The couple, recognized as Lisa and Kathryn, reached out to our sister station WPVI after their story aired Wednesday evening. Rifici can be reunited with them on Thursday. Keep tuned!
