Will the Dead Space remake feature new content?

It was revealed at EA Play It’s a Dead space a remake is coming, but fans are still curious about what’s to come. Will this be a 1:1 remake or will EA Motive bring new content to the game? While we don’t get much from the short trailer shown, we can speculate a few things could be added (or removed) from the remake.

Will the Dead Space remake add or remove content?

If it’s not an exact remake, there are several ways to remake Dead Space that could come with adding or removing content. It could be like Resident Evil 2, where certain areas are expanded and others are completely redesigned to take advantage of modern technology. While the original game was a great horror experience, there were plenty of glitches. Some of these are in the circuit of Metroidvanias, but some segments feel more like cushioning. Perhaps EA Motive can take us to some unseen parts of USG Ishimura to avoid some of the more tedious replay action.

There are also some parts in Dead Space that the developers can modify in the remake to make it more interesting. In particular, the Zero-G segment when Isaac has to travel along the outside of the ship to reach a turret and then back down the old path is more disturbing than terrifying. Sure, there’s an oxygen limit to add tension, but this whole piece could be retooled to fit the rest of the game more naturally.

Alternatively, the Dead Space remake could be like Resident Evil 3, where everything is cut down for a shorter, more linear experience. Removing backtracking entirely is a big mistake, so hopefully EA Motive doesn’t take this approach.

Given the mixed reaction to the changes in Dead Space 3, we could also see some minor plot changes to make a difference to the story in a potential Dead Space 2 remake or sequel. completely new.
