Will Smith revealed when fresh prince ‘jumped the shark’ in new memoir

Will Smith tells it all in his brand new memoir, “Will,” in which he shares his decision to cancel The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air iconic Will Smith makes absolutely no sense when it comes to revealing his life experiences (both on-screen and off-screen) in his brand new memoir titled Will. A four-time Grammy Award winner and two Oscar nominee Smith still has plenty of stories to tell about his journey towards success, written with integrity and vulnerability at the forefront.
Honesty and being an open book to fans and the public is what the Smith family is known for. Still, this memoir and the craft of writing, in general, seem like the perfect outlet for him to pull out a few things for himself, including his fate. NBC‘NS Fresh Prince.
Smith starts with his story, painting a picture of his early rap career in the 90s. He even revealed about the traumatic childhood he went through and the relationship he had. with his abusive father. Smith begins the book with the statement: “My father named me, He named me, and he gave me the greatest advantage in life: my ability to overcome adversity. He gave me my will.” As Smith continues to share the experiences that made him the man he is today, he would be foolish not to mention the hit sitcom that changed everything for him, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
In spite of New Prince seems to be an overnight success, Smith at this point in his career was receiving many opportunities in Hollywood to transform into the movie star he is today. He recounted in his memoirs that he made the final and difficult decision to cancel the show after season 6 due to an outdated and overblown plot – the show’s novelty was starting to fade. . Smith writes, “Anyone who has been on a sitcom can tell you the episode where their show jumped the shark. Ours was season 5, episode 15, ‘Bullets Over Bel-Air’, the part where I got shot and Carlton started carrying a gun. I’ve successfully made a promise to myself that I’ll never get into a cycle of decline without the next. The show could easily sustain another season; This is my family; I love them. But a film career is now a viable option; I was at a crossroads. ”
The iconic auto-popular sitcom ran for six long seasons, keeping the cast together. Smith reveals his admiration and close relationship with Fresh Prince costar Alfonso Ribeiro. He credits Ribeiro for giving him so much guidance and wisdom. Smith the dish that Ribeiro himself said to him, “Hey, man, I overheard the producers discussing a name for your character. Taken from me: Name your character, Will Smith. Because people will call you that for the rest of your life.”
When New Prince The sitcom has long come to an end, the story will continue in a new format. Peacock ordered two seasons of one dramatic re-imagining of New Prince.
