Why Elden Ring Fans Are Worried About Online Multiplayer Mode

Elden Ring will be out in a few weeks on all consoles and some soul Fans of the series who have been waiting for the new JRPG are worried about how its multiplayer mode will work due to a new way of exploiting.

Elden Ring is next soulAction role-playing game made by FromSoftware and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. It is thus one of the biggest releases of 2022, with the entire gaming industry awaiting its launch.

Furthermore, FromSoftware has been confirmed Elden Ring includes an online multiplayer mode similar to the one found in the past soul Game. And now some fans are worried about how this will play out on PC due to the reveal of a recent exploit.

Remote code execution exploit found in Dark souls PC online multiplayer can be in Elden Ring PC too

At the end of January, it was reported that a Remote Code Execution (RCE) exploit was found in Dark souls series ‘online mode on PC. In other words, players who invade your world in the game can run arbitrary code on your machine, including malicious code.

Hackers can do anything, from formatting your hard drive to stealing passwords and credit card information stored on your PC.

Furthermore, it seems that the exploit is similar in the PC version of Elden Ring, are using the same netcode.

On January 23, Dark souls series of Twitter accounts announced that online multiplayer PvP servers for Dark Souls 3, 2, Dead Edition, and Fixed has been temporarily discontinued. That is all soul games on PC. Xbox and PlayStation servers remain online.

Elden Ring launches on February 25, 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/s, and PC. The game has been delayed from the January 21 release.
