Why don’t economists like higher inflation?

They can be paid better by getting a new job or by credibly threatening to leave. But it’s often a stressful and unsettling position, from both a personal and professional standpoint. People may even have received stimulus money earlier in the pandemic, directly or indirectly, and thus break even or go ahead. However, with inflation, they will lose their purchasing power and they will hate it.
