Why Doctor Strange needs Loki in the Multiverse of Madness

Since the first season of Loki Proving to be a huge success, the events of the series have led to a lot of speculation among MCU fans about whether and when they’ll get to see the Naughty God before Season 2 premieres. Given the nature of the season 1 finale and its massive impact on the rest of the Marvel universe, fans were hoping to see Loki return later this year, in Doctor Strange in Madness’s Multiverse, to help the witch deal with the destruction of the multiverse.

Doctor Strange 2 had a lot going for it, including (but not limited to) the return of Wanda Maximoff, the introduction of the live-action Evil Strange, and About America Chavez into the MCU. Without Loki, the film stands on some pretty solid foundations, especially after the events of Spider-Man: There’s no way home, leaving viewers hungry for more multiverse adventures with their favorite wizard.

All that being said, Strange has some pretty formidable enemies to conquer, all while trying to restore the balance of time and keep the textures of reality from unraveling. Magical or not, this is an extremely difficult task for any hero. This is clearly why Strange enlisted Wanda’s help, but Loki could very easily become the key to solving all of Strange’s problems.

In the first place, Strange asked Wanda for help because he was seeking her knowledge of the multiverse. Having become a multiverse anomaly himself, Loki also knows a lot about the multiverse and how it works. Unlike any other Marvel character to date, with the exception of Sylvie, Loki is the only one who has been able to travel to the end of time and have a direct confrontation with the creator of the universe. Loki knows who wrote the timeline, he knows that there is many variations of Kang about to appear on the multiverse, and he even got the chance to get to know the people responsible for maintaining Kang’s vision (aka TVA).

But not only does Loki know the secrets of the universe, he also has access to top secret TVA information that Strange can use to help him in the sequel to his journey. Even though Mobius doesn’t seem to have any recollection of Loki according to season 1 finale, Loki’s memory is still very intact, meaning he knows how to navigate his way through TVA. For example, Loki was able to access TVA’s files and give Strange more information about the threat he was up against. Even more important, however, is that Loki knows TVA has a huge collection of Infinity Stones waiting to be used.

If Loki could snag a time stone from TVA, he was able to replace the one Strange lost at the end of the Infinity Saga, making their fight against the multiverse at least a little easier. Strange still wears the pendant he once kept the Time Stone in, so he certainly doesn’t do so without reason. Having the Time Stone means Strange can reverse time, giving him the chance to stop a problem before it has time to show up in the multiverse.

Not to mention, Loki has his own special tricks, having practiced his own form of magic since he was a child. Loki’s shape-shifting ability certainly seems like a unique skill Strange could find a use for, and if Loki, Wanda and Strange Unite the forces and fight together in this next multiverse battle, their win rate increases dramatically. Each magic-wielding character has their own special set of skills that, combined with their respective talents, make them a powerful force to be reckoned with.

In the midst of Strange’s messy spell in Spider-Man: There’s no way home, Loki’s inability to stop Sylvie from killing He Who Remains and Wanda’s Westview tragedy in Wandavision, all three characters have unfinished business they need to be in. While it may seem like they’re all trying to do their best and use magic responsibly, Loki, Wanda, and Strange still have a lot to learn. Whether it’s understanding the role of magic in preserving the multiverse, or simply knowing how to perfect their gear, each magician can learn something from the other.

For now, is Loki participating? Sorcerer Supreme The next part is still unclear. Loki was not found in the first official version Madness’s Multiverse trailer, however recent events from Spider-Man: There’s no way home proved that characters can still appear in MCU projects, even if they don’t appear in any of the trailers. It’s also no secret Doctor Strange 2 went through some pretty significant reboots, which led a lot of fans to believe the sequel would be more related to There’s no way home and Loki same. Regardless, Strange can certainly use Loki on his side as the multiverse continues to run rampant and cause chaos among Marvel’s heroes.
