Imagine, if you will: You are Paris Hilton. You just finished lavish wedding party for many days, complete with a lots of different wedding dresses and a Peacock Documentation Institute about event planning. What will you do next? If you said “Take my parents on a honeymoon”, you’re right! As a matter of fact, Paris Hilton took her parents away for at least part of her honeymoon with her husband Carter Reum. With all due respect, I would rather cancel my honeymoon altogether.
Every “Page Six” Hilton and Reum’s honeymoon in Bora Bora included snorkeling, swimming with stingrays and wearing $345 wetsuit screen printed with giant jewelry necklaces. It also includes a handful of Hilton’s family members: her brothers, Conrad Hilton and Barron Hilton; her sister-in-law, Tessa Hilton; she 1 year old granddaughter, Milou; and her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton. Invite your parents on your honeymoon? A very White Lotus things need to do.
Is this just part of rich culture that I don’t know about? Do rich people often have their family pass with them on their honeymoon? Is it assumed that if your parents are paying for any and all wedding celebrations, they are allowed to attend as they please? Does the honeymoon turn into a group excursion? A family reunion? A sequel to the wedding reception where you have to find out who’s sitting where? Again, I’d rather stay home.
Despite that, Paris, her husband and the rest of the Hiltons appear to be enjoying their collective honeymoon in Bora Bora. And it looks like it’s just a couple first stop. Will the whole family go on a honeymoon around the world with them? I suppose the time and the photo dump on Instagram will speak for itself.
