Which New World faction should you pick?

Wondering which faction you should choose in the New World? New World’s open beta has begun and we expect a large number of players to come to the shores of expand the world MMO. If you’re not familiar with Amazon’s new game, there are a few things that distinguish it from your usual game MMO game; there are no classes, you can only have one character per server, and the player base is split into three factions: the Marauders, the Syndicate, and the Covenant.
The faction you choose has a big impact on your gameplay. After choosing one, you can’t join another faction for the next 120 days, and you’re restricted to joining companies – guilds, basically – that match your faction. If you choose to participate in PvP, you may be attacked by players from the opposing faction.
You also represent your faction in Wars, 50v50 PvP battles, control a settlement. The winner will be responsible for settlement development and tax rates, and also receive incentives in the local area. So there are plenty of reasons to pledge your allegiance – but how do you decide on your New World side?
How to choose a faction in the New World
To choose a faction, you must reach level 10 and complete a series of beginner quests. If you’re playing with a group of people or know any players who have picked a faction, we strongly recommend choosing the same faction – unless of course you want to go against them.
In a word, players may want to be part of the largest or second largest faction on the server – if there is a faction that is much smaller than the others, they may end up with ruins in when the other two beat it. Obviously, there are ‘weak mechanisms’ that prevent a faction from falling too far behind, but it’s not clear yet.
It’s hard to say which faction will prevail in your chosen server, and since we’re currently in closed beta before New World release date, we recommend choosing the faction that you like the lore and feel.
Can you change your New World faction?
Yes, you can change your faction in the New World. However, you can’t change to the faction that holds the most territory, and you can only change once every 120 days – still a significant undertaking, but a bit less difficult than being locked up forever.
New World Factions
The factions in the New World are:
Marauders
The Marauders are a ‘ruthless military force’ who seek to use their power to gain freedom. If you’re looking to build muscle and build strength to get to the top, the Marauders are the place for you.
indenture
The Covenant is a ‘legendary order’ with a mission to cleanse the land of uncleanness and heresy and restore justice. If you love to be holier than you are and win over sinners, Covenant is the team to join.
Syndicate
The Syndicate is a ‘secret organization of boundless wisdom and wisdom’ – if you like skimming people’s backs, you’re doing well with them.
Now you’re ready to make the big decision – good luck on your adventure in Aeternum.
