To become the best Pokémon trainer in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearls, you will need to complete your Pokédex. Doing this means finding and encountering every species of Pokémon from generation one to generation four.
All of these Pokémon, with the exception of some exclusive versions, can be found in both games at various points along your adventures. Some can be much harder to find than others, but the one that makes it quite difficult for players to locate is Tangela.
Tangela is one of the original 151 Pokémon, with a cluster of blue vines as distinct as it looks. If you’re looking to complete the National Pokédex, you’ll need both Tangela and its evolved Tangrowth, which can be found by evolving Tangela as it learns Ancient Power.
Tangela’s position in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl
You can find Tangela in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearls once you have obtained the National Pokédex in the Grand Underground.
This species will breed in swampy areas and swamp caves in the Grand Underground. If you have reached the required points in the game and have entered these locations, you will see and be able to meet Tangela as usual.
To get the National Pokédex, you need to complete the Sinnoh Pokédex, seeing all Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. This means you’ll have to complete the main game, defeat the Elite Four, and become the champion, before you can add Tangela to your collection.
If you’ve been chasing Tangela before this point, you can get a Pokémon by trading with the person who caught it in their game.
