Where to find and catch Rayquaza

Although not quite as effective as before due to no Mega Evolution in recent Pokemon game, Rayquaza is still one of the Strongest Legendary Pokemon in the history of franchising. Only a handful of its kin can match or improve with its total base stats of 680, making it an extremely desirable Pokemon for most players. With this in mind, many will be happy to know that they can once again capture Rayquaza in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining pearls.

As with all but one of the other Legendaries in Brilliant diamond & Shining pearls, players will need to wait until the main story is completed before they have a chance to capture Rayquaza. In fact, given the order in which certain Legendary Pokemon need to be caught in the 4th gen remake, catching Rayquaza will likely be one of the last things multiplayer does in the game.


Where to find Rayquaza in brilliant diamonds & shining pearls


Rayquaza is one of thirteen non-Sinnoh shows that can be found in the special post-game area, Ramanas Park. To gain access to it, players will need defeat Cynthia at Pokemon League and later Unlock National Dex by registering Pokedex data for all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh region. After doing so, they will be able to visit Professor Rowan’s lab in Sandgem Town to update their Pokedex.


As the update progresses, Professor Oak will mention a new position called Ramanas . Park recently opened and suggest players to go and check it out. To encounter the Legendaries at Ramanas Park, players will need to have on hand special interceptors, which can only be exchanged for Mystery piece. These special and extremely rare items are only found in the Grand Underground and players will need three small items or one large item for each vehicle. However, due to the order in which Shale transactions are available, holding the Shale necessary to summon Rayquaza is not as simple as finding enough blocking means for a single transaction.


To unlock the trade for the Stratospheric Slate, the player will need to capture three Legendary Titans, Latios, Latias, and three Legendary Monsters (Monopoly Brilliant diamond) or three legendary birds (Monopoly Shining pearls). Only then can they obtain the stone needed to meet Rayquaza, which must then be placed in a pedestal in the Stratosphere Chamber on the northwest side of the park.

Much as the other two members of the Weather Trio, Rayquaza can be a bit difficult to catch as it can use a move that restores its health. With this in mind, players may find themselves taking on more risk than usual when attacking, so perhaps now more than ever, saving before the start of battle is a very good idea.


While it’s certainly annoying, Rest can really benefit players, like Rayquaza will be much easier to catch if it’s sleeping.
