Better Call Saul season 6 has been split into two parts, with the midseason finale about to air
Regardless of whether you’re a fan of popular TV shows that split their final season into two parts, forcing viewers to wait several more months for the show to wrap up, the trend seems to be continuing.
It happened earlier this year with Money Heist, Ozark and The Walking Dead, and Better Call Saul is the next prestige show to head for its mid-season hiatus.
After Netflix waited two long years for the final season – due to delays related to pandemics and the show’s star Bob Odenkirk suffering a heart attack while filming – Netflix has decided to delay fan satisfaction just a little bit longer .
And as if a final season breakup wasn’t painful enough, UK viewers will even have to wait an extra day to see each episode as they are released 24 hours early in the US.
When is the Better Call Saul season 6 part 1 finale?
The midseason finale of the final season of Better Call Saul will be released on Netflix in the UK on May 24th.
In the episode, enticingly titled “Plan and Execution,” Jimmy and Kim must deal with a last-minute blunder in their plan to take Howard down.
After an intense third episode, the season has experienced a significant change in pace, with episodes four, five and six clearly building to a dramatic payoff.
With Plan and Execution being the last episode for more than a month, it’s likely to be a big one.
When is Better Call Saul Season 6 Part 2 out?
The second part of season six will air in the UK on July 12, seven weeks after the mid-season finale.
The final part will consist of six episodes, meaning that the sixth season will be 13 episodes in total, while the first five seasons were only 10 episodes.
The first two episodes of season 6 were released at the same time, but we won’t be getting that tidbit again – each episode of season 6, part two, will be released weekly, with the finale arriving on Netflix in the UK on August 15.
What happened in season 6 part 1?
*Spoiler Alert* If you’re not up to date on the latest episodes of Better Call Saul, then skip this section as it’s practically a long spoiler.
So far in season six, Jimmy and Kim have plotted Howard’s downfall, planting cocaine in his locker, stealing his car, and getting him involved in prostitution.
In the fourth episode of the series, Howard realized that Jimmy was messing with him and began planning himself; We have yet to see if this will pay off.
Nacho went on the run after season five’s hit on Lalo failed and was eventually killed in the third episode of the series.
Lalo has embarked on a bloody vendetta, shooting human traffickers, breaking into and tying up one of the men who worked for Gus in season four – why does it feel like he’s just getting started?
What is the plot of season 6 part 2
Episode titles for the final part of the season have not yet been released and plot details are being kept under wraps, but there are a few elements we can be pretty sure about.
It doesn’t take a huge leap of faith to say that the season six finale, part one, will end on a major cliffhanger — with either Kim and Jimmy’s plan to defeat Howard, Lalo’s revenge, or both.
Part two must clean up the mess left by part one and bring Better Call Saul up to speed with Breaking Bad.
Since Lalo doesn’t appear in Breaking Bad and Gus does, things don’t look good for him. Kim is another character who does not appear or is not named at all in Vince Gilligan’s previous series, and her fate is also unknown.
As of season six episode six, we haven’t seen anything from Gene Takovic in the black-and-white scenes that began the show’s first five seasons.
This is one of the main plot points to solve in the final episodes – how does Jimmy become Gene, is Kim with him at this point in his life and is it the end of Jimmy’s story?
