What’s going on with Jake Gyllenhaal and this Instagram cat?

Jake Gyllenhaal likes to hide. He was famous for his height, I mean he’s 5 foot-10 tall. He will give no indication of the whereabouts of Taylor Swift’s scarf from that first week. So it shouldn’t surprise you at all that he refuses to say whether he manages the cat’s Instagram account with this name. Ms. FluffleStiltskin. Allow me to explain.

First, meet Miss FluffleStiltskin, a gorgeous and powerful (Persian ??) cat with a wrinkled face. To see her is to love her. She always looked a little cranky, she could be said to be perfect.

Now, if you want, please direct your attention to the caption of that post, which says “MEOUCH – you guys need to clam [sic] down and stop cyberbullying”. I assume “clam” is a typo. (Unless it’s a vague wordplay that cats like fish and where mussels live? I don’t know.) Regardless, I’m sure you’re wondering why this cat (perhaps). ) again references Taylor Swift lyrics and takes a stand against cyberbullying. The latter is a good and good stance to take but one that seems to be intentionally timed based on this fascinating piece of information: Miss FluffleStiltskin has been rumored to be Jake Gyllenhaal’s cat. And Gyllenhaal has been getting a lot of, uh, unwanted attention due to Swift’s recent release ten-minute version of “All Too Well” rumored to have been inspired by her relationship with Gyllenhaal.

Before you go down the rabbit hole that I just made, please note, it’s probably not his cat. There were whispers Miss FluffleStiltskin belonged to Jeanne Cadieu, Gyllenhaal’s girlfriend, or perhaps even to Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jake’s sister. However, this 2020 interview with Ms. FluffleStiltskin gave about her pandemic experience – what a great bunch of words to just type in! – seems to confirm that her master is a man. In addition, the diligent killers at W Journal named the most likely culprit in February 2020: music producer Bryan Ling. Not only is Ling tagged in a few photos on Miss FluffleStiltskin’s account, his personal Instagram bio at one point reads “You can follow my cat”. Also, he is said to be close friends with Jake Gyllenhaal.

This may explain why Gyllenhaal has liked and commented on many of Ms. FluffleStiltskin’s posts, why Ms. FluffleStiltskin has homage to his Marvel character Mysterio, and why, most recently, Ms. FluffleStiltskin has been so determined to get on Team Jake. It doesn’t explain why Gyllenhaal doesn’t say outright, Miss FluffleStiltskin is his cat or not. In this 2019 interview with Yahoo Entertainment, he would just say that he “met Fluff” and that “she is amazing”. When asked directly if she was his cat, he winked at the camera.

Suffice it to say, it looks like we’ll never know who could claim ownership of this perfect kitty. Instead, Miss FluffleStiltskin could be everyone’s cat. Now she is the cat of the Internet.
