What will happen from the Resident Evil franchise in 2022

Capcom’s Resident Evil The franchise celebrated its 25th anniversary last year with the launch of Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 VRand released the Netflix animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. With Resident Evil As one of Capcom’s top franchises, fans can expect new content from the series regularly, and 2022 is no exception to that rule.
We’re still very early in the new year and so Capcom hasn’t revealed everything they’ve planned for yet Resident Evil in 2022. The earlier announcements, however, mean that fans already have an idea of what to expect from the survival-horror series.
Here’s what to expect from Resident Evil Franchising in 2022.
Resident Evil Village DLC
After the success of Resident Evil Village, many fans started asking Capcom to produce DLC for the game. Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Village DLC is in active development, but didn’t share any details beyond that. Looks like any DLC is working for Resident Evil Village It hasn’t been far enough in development for Capcom to give fans a serious look at it, so it’s hard to say exactly what it will be or when it will launch.
However, one has to imagine that Resident Evil Village The DLC will be out later this year. After all, this coming May will mark a whole year since Resident Evil Village launch, and if Capcom waits too long, that risks causing fans to lose interest in the game’s DLC.
As for what will happen in Resident Evill Village DLC, that’s anyone’s guess, but Resident Evil 7 may provide some clues. Capcom has released a variety of DLC for Resident Evil 7some of which focus on different characters who unfortunately encounter the Baker family, and some show what happened to the characters after the events of the game. Resident Evil Village DLC could follow a similar route, showing another character exploring the village or showing what happened to some of the core cast after the ending.
Whatever the case may be, Resident Evil Fans should learn more about Village DLC later this year.
Resident Evil Re: Verse
Resident Evil Village was appreciated for its single-player content, but some fans may recall that it also debuted with a multiplayer mode. The Resident Evil Re: Verse Multiplayer project allows players to take control of various characters from the franchise as well as some of the series’ most iconic enemies. Looks like it will be interesting Resident Evil fans are looking for some multiplayer action, but it looks like it’s having some development issues.
Unfortunately, Capcom is delayed Resident Evil Re: Verse from its original release date to the end of 2021, then pushing it back to 2022. In 2022, one would think that Resident Evil Re: Verse will either release to the general public or be fully boxed, though it remains to be seen.
If it comes out, it will be interesting to see if Resident Evil Re: Verse still bound to Resident Evil Village or if it was released as a standalone product, that would probably be the way to go. Whatever Capcom’s plan is Resident Evil Re: Verse More will come to light in the coming months.
Resident Evil 4 VR: The Mercenaries
While Resident Evil Village stole most of the hype when it comes to Resident Evil franchise in 2022, Resident Evil 4 VR also turned around. Successful translation Resident Evil 4 virtual reality experience, Resident Evil 4 VR received widespread critical acclaim and is often hailed as one of the better VR games to date. Even so, Resident Evil 4 VR released with less content than other versions of the game, although Capcom is looking to fix that in 2022.
Capcom has confirmed that a update for Resident Evil 4 VR will add mercenary mode into the game. As fans will recall, Mercenaries is a challenge mode Resident Evil 4 players to fight against hordes of enemies while dealing with a deadline. It added considerable replay value to the original Resident Evil 4and it will likely do the same for Resident Evil 4 VR. Not to mention The Mercenaries’ “short burst” style seems like it’s a perfect fit for VR.
Maybe other content was missing in the past Resident Evil 4 The game will also be adapted for VR, but official plans to that effect have yet to be announced at the time of this writing. Could also be Resident Evil 4 VR will pave the way for virtual reality platforms other than Oculus Quest 2, but that is also being rolled out at this time. Notwithstanding, Resident Evil 4 VR fans know they have The Mercenaries mode to look forward to at least.
Resident Evil Transformation Game
Fans know for sure Resident Evil Village DLC, Reverse multiplayer experience and updated The Mercenaries for Resident Evil 4 VR are on their way, but they don’t know about what else AGAIN Franchise available in store. One possibility is one Resident Evil Switch exclusive game is in development and will release this year, as reliable leakers claim such a project is in the works and was originally slated for a late 2021 release.
The Resident Evil The Switch game has yet to be confirmed by any official sources, but leaks have suggested that the game is called Resident Evil: Outrage and will feature Rebecca Chambers and Chris Redfield on a college campus overrun with zombies. Rumors persist about the game even though it hasn’t been revealed to the public yet, but hopefully fans will get their first look at it soon, assuming it exists.
Resident Evil 4 Remake
The Capcom ransomware attack was what initially got the cat out of the bag when it was in development Resident Evil projects as hypothetical Resident Evil: Outrage The game is in the works for the Switch. It also confirms that Capcom is creating a Resident Evil 4 redoand apparently the original plan was for the game to come out at some point in late 2022. The latest rumors suggest development disagreements have prompted Capcom to change slightly about it. Resident Evil 4 remake, potentially pushing its release date back to 2023.
But even if Resident Evil 4 remake delayed to 2023, there’s still a chance fans can see the game for the first time later this year. While it has not been officially announced, Resident Evil 4 redo is probably the safest bet of all Resident Evil rumors about the game, and so its reveal seems to be a matter of when, not if.
Resident Evil Live-Action Series Netflix
Besides video games, Resident Evil Fans can also watch the Netflix live-action series based on the franchise. This Netflix series does not adapt the games but focuses on the story of Wesker’s children and a town called New Raccoon City. Some of the freedom to use with source material has caused some controversy, but it’s best to withhold judgment until you’ve seen the final product. The exact release date has not been announced yet, but Resident Evil Netflix series is expected to release at some point in 2022.
