What is Tsuguko in Demon Slayer?

In the latest episode of Demon Slayer Part 2, fans have heard a new term, “Tsuguko.” Now, what does Tsuguko mean and its importance in the show; well, let’s throw some light on it.

While reveling in the beauty of the show, it’s important that we keep up with the story and pay close attention to every important detail. While fighting his rival Gyutaro, Tengen referred to Tangero, Inouske, and Zenitsu as his “Tsugukos”.

What is Tsuguko in Demon Slayer?

Tengen first used the term when he was fighting Gyutaro, and suddenly Tanjiro, Inouske, and Zenitsu appeared out of nowhere. Tengen said, “All three of them are my excellent Tsugukos.”

Tsuguko is basically a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slyer Legion, who was endowed with such good fighting ability that he might one day become Hashira. This meant that Tengen kept hopes high from all three of them. And he believes that one day they will become Hashira.

But a Tsuguko has not yet become a Hashira. They must sweat, blood and tears and increase their abilities to match Hashira. A Tsuguko can apply to become one or be found by an existing Hashira. The Hashira that a Tsuguko follows is usually someone who uses the same breathing technique they use.
