What are we all playing this weekend?

Just when you thought we were going to have a nice quiet weekend, Valve goes and announces my real dream machine, Steam floor. I will almost certainly be a big geek, but the thought of playing my favorite PC hits and favorite old 3D games on the sofa while former RPS vid officer Matthew plays his Steam game or Turn on TV is very very attractive.

There’s still a lot of time before I can actually get my hands on one, sadly, but this newfound excitement is a welcome change of pace as we approach the drought. Traditional summer game. What games are you going to save to play on, or is your weekend game plan unchanged?

is on her hols.

The recently released DLC seems like a good excuse to come back Rage Street 4. The new characters, weapons, and moves are enough to make me eat chicken again. Survival mode will hopefully make it work better.

I’m weighing all sorts of games at the moment to see what would be a good fit. I might try some Forza Horizon 4, relax in the evening with Final Fantasy XIV, can then put myself through the stress of Rimworld. I am new to colony sims, but I have a friend who patiently guides me. My favorite colonist was Toni, who, blessed with psychic powers, beat to death a mad squirrel.

I waited years to start it, but I’m finally playing the new Ratchet & Clank on PS5. I dragged my feet to start it because I loved the old games so much and I was afraid I wouldn’t enjoy this one (and yes I know it’s a silly excuse not to play something ). So far so good though! And what everyone has said before is absolutely true: this is the first game that really gives off a true next-gen feel.

Several tanks, planes and lots of tiny soldiers are at war in Company Of Heroes 3.
Please be of great service to you, Nate.

After reading Nate’s excellent Company Of Heroes 3 preview This week, I think I can provide a pre-alpha demo. Total War-style games have never been my forte, but COH3’s tactical pause feature intrigued me. Besides, I can always retreat to the warm, pastoral fields of Dorfromantik if things get too difficult. The latest update finally unlocked my trains and bricks properly after a bug stopped them from working, so now my small towns feel back to normal with activity.

BEASTMEN! BEEEEEEASTMEN! AWOOOOOOOOOO! GAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH! By that, I mean I’ll enjoy more of Silence & The Fury’s new DLC for Total Warhammer 2, featuring the most absurdly overpowered lord the game has ever seen. He’s called Taurox the Brass Bull, I don’t think it’s really possible to lose like him, but somehow it’s still fun?

This weekend is celebrating my dad and I together, so I won’t have too much time to play old PC games as often. I think there will be a reasonable amount Defeat Saber play though, it’s going to be fun, and no doubt makes me cringe afterwards. But that’s what birthday drinks are there for.

Now I have continued the call recording medium My GOTFHOTY (scream to two people on Twitter who used that acronym before I did!), to me that maybe I should really get it done at some point. I heard the ending was a bit divisive, so let’s hope I’m not ready for the weekend!

But you, dear reader, what are you playing this weekend?
