‘Western Story’ Global box office revenue up 50% according to forecast

Most recently mid-week, box office projections for Steven Spielberg West story the remake looks pretty solid, if a million miles away from spectacular.

The combination of rave reviews and one of the best-known filmmakers in the business calling the footage shot has led analysts to predict that an all-new version of the 1961 classic. can bring in $18 million domestically and at least $30 million globally on the first weekend in theaters.

Unfortunately, those numbers have become too broad. West story barely surpassing 10 million dollars in the United States late on Sunday, and the film’s overseas performance was even worse. Opening in no less than 37 international markets, the all-singing and dancing season nominees couldn’t even make $5 million.

That’s not great for an important pet with a reported $100 million budget, and it must be seen as a huge disappointment to all involved. Adult ticket prices and musicals have both struggled to gain commercial foothold during the pandemic, and that sadly looks set to continue for some time to come.
