WEMADE Developer Announces Legend of Ymir – A European Fantasy Game Simulating The Legend of MIR

WE DO, One Korean development studio behind the MIR game series, announced a new title called The Legend of Ymir. In the technology announcement released by WEMADE Global, the Manufacturer of The Legend of Ymir explains that the upcoming title will tie in with the story of Legend of MIR, but will use Unreal Engine 5 as their first foray into a next-gen MMORPG.

The Legend of Ymir aims to be a Nordic reinterpretation of the story of Legend of MIR depicted in a fairy-tale setting. The game intends to use the same features that made the previous series so popular, including pvp-based gameplay. Not only will The Legend of Ymir uses Unreal Engine 5, but similar to their most recent game in MIR series, MIR4, WEMADE also intends to use NFT, which is expected to be leveraged in Play 2 Monetization.

The team goes into more detail on how they used the upscaling, advanced texture system, and UE5’s Nanite and Lumen features to create a high-quality visual experience, aimed at running at Consistent frame rates in FHD, QHD and UHD resolutions. The team rounded up the video showing in-game footage of the current construction of the The Legend of Ymir. As expected, the image fidelity is top-notch, however, no combat or enhanced movement is shown.

MIR4 WEMADE’s newest game, released on Sauna and Mobile back in August 2021. The free-to-play MMORPG boasts cross-platform play and large-scale PvP battles. MIR4 uses blockchain technology in a number of different ways. One way is for players to earn enough black steel, which can then melt them into a blockchain-based token and sell them to other players. Players can also tokenize their real characters and trade them as NFTs. Will this exact system translate to The Legend of Ymir is yet to be revealed, but the odds are pretty good that blockchain usage will be identical.
