New Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City, Promises Easter Eggs

Sony Pictures’ Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City hits theaters this week, and the studio has ramped up its marketing ploy right before its premiere. In the latest episode released by the studio, the film’s director and producer at Capcom talked about working together and how the upcoming movie is loaded with easter eggs, a solid fact. will appeal to fans of the game franchise.

NS Resident Evil The game franchise is one of Capcom’s best sellers, and more than 120 million game units have cumulatively sold around the world since its release. Few live-action Resident Evil film was released in the past, but Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City takes fans back to the first two games in the series, featuring some of the most beloved playable characters.

In the new film, director Johannes Roberts addresses Capcom’s integral role in bringing Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City to life. Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who previously worked on production NS Resident Evil Game, worked alongside Roberts throughout the process. Roberts himself is a fan of the game, as Kobayashi revealed. As a person who appreciates the game’s original content, Roberts included a number of Easter eggs in the movie for fellow game fans.

It is already known that the plot of the film will be based on the years 1996 Resident Evil and 1998 Resident Evil 2. However, Kobayashi revealed that Roberts even “sneaked into one of his favorite elements from a later game.” He hopes that fans of the game will be able to find it. He refers to the movie as a “new” movie Resident Evil world” created by Roberts, combining elements from the game with fresh concepts created specifically for the film.

In previous interviews, Roberts has revealed that Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City won’t be a full plot adaptation of the first two games. Kobayashi goes on to confirm this and hopes that true fans of the franchise will appreciate the differences they’ve included in the script. It was known that famous villains from Resident Evil 2, Mr. X, will not appear in the upcoming film, which makes one wonder what changes the film has made from the original plot.
