One of Battlefield 2042’s many bugs that stuck players in their Osprey vault, right before things got worse.
Gamers these days are used to the fact that games can launch well before most consider them ready for consumers. When it comes to highly anticipated titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and most recently, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Final Edition, the error state that such games launch into can kill the hype for those hoping to effectively enjoy playing them. On the bright side, however, these can still provide loads of entertainment thanks to the clips players share of the weird and spectacular errors in the action, and in that respect, Battlefield 2042 continue to deliver.
Now that it’s been out for a few weeks, it’s safe to say that the latest installment of DICE has earned a place in the ensemble of messy, hyped premieres. To the developer’s credit, it was slow but sure patch Battlefield 2042 to overcome the most adverse problems, but it looks like this process will continue for a while. In the meantime, players continue to discover glitches that sometimes make the game break and frustrating to experience in the moment, making for a fun look in retrospect.
A recent example is a clip shared by a Battlefield 2042 player called Gorilla_Munch_ on Reddit. It started out pretty normal, with the player driving the Osprey high above the battlefield, but things quickly changed. After switching to gunner for a moment, Gorilla_Munch_ switched again and found itself suddenly thrown into Osprey’s cargo hold. Seemingly unable to turn back, they ran around the holding area for a few seconds before Osprey was suddenly destroyed and plunged to the ground in a chaotic spin. Miraculously, however, this spin appears to save the player as they eventually slide over the plane as it crashes, hitting the nearby ground unscathed.
The final seconds of the clip are particularly wild, with Gorilla_Munch_ tumbling inside the Osprey rapidly spinning before saving their last second. That’s certainly not the view most players would see in that case, and the replies to the clip make it clear that Battlefield the community is getting a good laugh from another community funny glitch with Battlefield 2042.
Despite the numerous issues the game has faced since its launch, DICE continues to work on improving it. Although not every problem players have to do with bugs and the like, because The debate is over Battlefield 2042Santa’s Skin can attest, it will most likely reach a steady state common to the entire player base. If not, then at least players can continue to look forward to new clips of the game breaking in funny ways.
