Gaoli, a former deputy prime minister and member of the Communist Party’s Politburo Standing Committee, forced her to have sex three years ago. The post was soon taken down without further explanation. Zhang could not be reached for comment on the matter, and as a result, a spokesman for the Communist Party denied all sexual harassment allegations against him.

After much fuss and crying in the media, a letter allegedly written by Shuai has come to light. The body of the letter states that she is fine, and the Weibo post was made without her consent, so the allegations are fake. However, fans were no longer willing to buy such lies. They also feature big names from the ATP and WTA worlds, all of whom come to Shuai’s defense. Latest among master to raise their voice in Rafael Nadal.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion has expressed concern over the disappearance of the Chinese tennis player. His comments came to light, after Wimbledon released a statement condemning the Chinese authorities. Shuai, who attended the doubles tournament at Wimbledon in 2013 and the French Open in 2014, has not been seen publicly since the post went viral.

Speaking to the French publication L’equipe, Nadal speak “I follow the news and read articles about Peng Shuai. Although I don’t have all the information, the most important thing in this case is that she is okay. All of us in the great tennis family hope to see her again with us soon.”
