Watch the First Trailer for HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel ‘House of the Dragon’

It’s nearly time to return to Westeros. HBO has launched its first official teaser for Home of the Dragon, the forthcoming prequel sequence to Game of Thrones.

Based mostly on George R.R. Martin’s novel Fireplace and Blood set 200 years earlier than Recreation of Thrones, Home of the Dragon recounts the historical past of Home Targaryen earlier than Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Stormborn grew to become the mom of dragons and ascended to the iron throne. The sequence stars Wil Johnson as Ser Vaemond Velaryon, John Macmillan as Ser Laenor Velaryon, Savannah Steyn as Girl Laena Velayron, and Theo Nate as Ser Laenor Velaryon, all of whom are associated to Lord Corlys Velaryon—a commander within the Velaryon navy—and his spouse, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen.

Though Recreation of Throne creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss aren’t concerned within the new sequence, it seems to be like Home of the Dragon shares extremely comparable DNA with its youthful forefather. “Gods. Kings. Fireplace. And blood,” says an ominous voice within the trailer, naming 4 components that had been central to Daenerys Targaryen’s Recreation of Thrones story line. Within the teaser, swords are wielded, males joust on horse again, and robed individuals stare forebodingly into fires. “Desires didn’t make us kings,” says the voice, as a Daenerys lookalike approaches the iron throne. “Dragons did.” Home of the Dragon will premiere on HBO Max in 2022.
