Watch Power Book III: Raising Kanan on Starz for Free

“Powerful Book III: Elevating Kanan, “the latest prequel in the original “Power” series, premieres on Starz on Sundays, and if you’re new to cable networks, you can stream the show for free.
Set in South Jamaica, Queens, in 1991, the colorful family drama revolves around the coming of age of Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis) – Ghost and Tommy’s mentor, partner and enemy, who died in the middle of nowhere. In the prequel, Kanan is the 15-year-old only child of Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller), a cocaine distributor with an up-and-coming dealer network around the city. Like its predecessors, “Power” and “Power Book II: Ghost,” “raise Kanan” explores themes of identity, violence, loyalty, and heritage. It also delves into the pathology of the family: the nuanced yet unique dynamics between parent and child, mother and father, and siblings.
The cast includes Omar Epps (“House,” “Love and Basketball”) as Detective Malcolm Howard, London Brown (“Ballers”) as Marvin Thomas, Malcolm Mays (“Them” “Snowfall”) as Louis “Lou-Lou” Thomas, Hailey Kilgore as Jukebox, Joey Bada $$ as Unique, Toby Sandeman (“The Royals”) as Symphony Bosket, Shanley Caswell (“The Conjuring”) as Detective Shannon Burke, Lovie Simone (“The Craft: Legacy”) as Davina Harrison, and Quincy Brown (“Dope”) as Crown Camacho.
Starz is offering a seven-day free trial to new customers – which means you can join today and stream the first episode of “raise Kanan” for free. Membership will cost $8.99 a month after the trial ends, but if you want to save even more money, sign up Starz on Hulu and you will only pay $0.99 a month for the first two months (after the free trial). Another option is to sign up for Starz through Amazon Prime where you’ll get a free trial for both platforms (Amazon Prime costs $12.99 a month and includes a huge Prime Video library). You may cancel any of the aforementioned memberships at any time.
