Lorde appeared on a new episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers where she helped revive the Drink of the Day segment of the show.
Drinking at Zero Bond in New York, Meyers made a series of cocktails for the singer inspired by her songs (including ‘Solar Power’ and ‘Ribs’) and the two played drinking games wine in New Zealand slang.
Other activities include Lorde’s previous album cover effort, 2017 ‘Melodrama’, and an animated rendition of Lorde’s hit ‘Green Light’ with support from Meyers.
A bit involved Meyers trying to remember Lorde’s full name – Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor – at various times of the day.
The singer plans to make a live premiere of ‘Stoned At The Nail Salon’ on Meyers’ show later today. Last week, she do ‘Solar Power’ while it’s on Late Show with Stephen Colbert, appeared on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York, where the show was filmed.
Talking about her new album, co-produced by Jack Antonoff, the singer-songwriter said: “The album is a tribute to the natural world, an attempt to immortalize the profound, transcendent emotions that come with being felt. I am outdoors sometimes.
“In times of heartbreak, grief, deep love or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I learned to exhale and adjust. Here’s what we’ve been through. “
Lorde will take ‘Solar Power’ to the streets next year, with live UK dates scheduled for May and June. She will also perform next summer Primavera sound in Barcelona with The strokes, Tame the Impala and more.
