Ichiro Suzuki may be retired, but his latest appearance on a baseball diamond suggests he still holds it. Despite the great success currently working with Mariners As special assistant to the president, he still finds time to continue playing baseball. And young players are still influenced by his time in the big leagues.

A high school wrote a letter asking Ichiro to appear at their baseball practice. Students from Japan’s Kokugakuin Kugayama High School asked him to be the guest instructor, and, they were delighted when Ichiro recently accepted the invitation and appeared.

The note was written in January 2021 and Ichiro visited the high school on Monday. He said the letter was something he would treasure forever, according to

“The letter is about your passion. I put it in a drawer where I keep important things and I will treasure it,” he said.

When he appeared, the 48-year-old man made it clear. He started hitting the home players and even hit a ball so much that it hit a building across the street from the field.

While there, he taught impressive students some of the tricks that have helped him succeed in MLB. He explains the best way to run bases or swish pockets saying, “If you swing your arms back, you can extend your stride a step further. And you can take bigger steps as you bathe. your shoulders start to stick together.”
