Netflix is dropped a lot of titles at the end of the month but a movie you must see before it leaves the platform is Mechanic.

This psychological thriller star Christian Bale in one of his best performances and has many turns that will give you a headache. The film follows Trevor Reznik, a lathe operator who suffers from year-long insomnia.

After a long time without sleep, Reznik began to hallucinate, causing viewers to question what is real and what is imaginary. The arrival of a mysterious co-worker named Ivan prompts Reznik to investigate what the new employee’s intentions are – but the answers will only shed more light on his sanity.

The movie became famous because Bale’s extreme weight loss experienced while preparing for the role. This is achieved through an intense workout routine and a diet that includes a cup of black coffee, an apple and a can of tuna a day. Adding in a daily calorie intake of around 200 calories, it’s no surprise that the actor looks unhealthyly slim, with his skeleton and sunken eyes almost like the movie itself.

As he gets older, Bale said he won’t go through any extreme weight transformations for the roles. “I can’t keep doing it. I really can’t,” the 47-year-old actor said in an interview for Time. “My death is staring me in the face.”

When Bale is no longer losing wild weight, you can appreciate the lengths he has pushed his body by catching Mechanic before it left Netflix in just a few days.
