WATCH: Cardinals’ Adam Wainwright unleashes a dunk clown attack at the fair

At the age of 40, long time The Cardinals of St. Louis Vase Adam Wainwright needs to take advantage of every opportunity so that he can stay fit and play comfortably for the upcoming 17th Major League Baseball season. On Saturday night, one such opportunity came during a trip to the fair, where a dunk tank clown noticed that he hadn’t reckoned with Uncle Charlie.
On Saturday, Wainwright tweeted a video of him shooting at a fairground dunk tank, launching a right-handed hit to give an adorable clown back.
If the clown knows who’s going to get his turn with the dunk tank, he might have to chuck his tongue out: Wainwright has been a fixture for the Cardinals for the past 16 years, playing on their 2006 World Series-winning team and won the All-Star title in 2010, 2013 and 2014. Wainwright is also a two-time Golden Glove winner.
Despite his age, Wainwright is set to return to the Cardinals for at least another season, because he recently agreed to a one-year contract extension to stay with the group.
