Trooper said Ajia Hasenauer, 28, of New York, was found taking illegal drugs at a rest stop. A soldier tried to get her out of the car, but she refused.
It then fled on I-71 South.
“She jumped into the driver’s seat,” the soldier could hear the dispatch on his radio. “She is bound to the south. She has a needle in her arm.”
A male passenger sat in the back seat.
The pursuit reached speed of 120 miles per hour. The soldiers said the car she was driving was reported stolen in New York.
The stop stick is used to ask the vehicle to stop.
“As soon as the vehicle stopped, both the driver and passenger fled on foot,” said Lieutenant Ray Durant, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Hasenauer injured his eye when he fell during his arrest. She is supposed to be fine.
Her passenger, Henry Horton, was arrested Sunday.
Both face a number of charges. They are being held at the Ashland County Jail and are expected to appear in court soon.
