Aquaman star Jason Momoa was once co-starred in the reboot of The Crow, and test footage of him in the role has surfaced online.

Jason Momoa The Crow

The test footage has been revealed for fans to see Aquaman Jason Momoa stars in the lead role of Raven. Of course, the reboot with Momoa was canceled, but the test footage definitely captured the emotions of Raven.

For those who don’t know the story, The Crow is a supernatural superhero manga series that follows the main character. Musician Eric Draven was killed the night before the wedding along with his fiancée. On the anniversary of their deaths, Draven rose from the grave and became a supernatural avenger stalking those responsible.

Raven rebooting with Momoa is close to becoming a reality until a schedule conflict is forced NS Aquaman star and director Corin Hardy walked away. The project later went awry, but the test footage now gives fans a glimpse of Momoa in The Crow’s signature face painting. A mentally tortured and beaten man, The Crow doesn’t stop until he gets his revenge. When he’s not hunting, he lives in the house he and his wife once shared while wallowing in despair and reminiscing about past memories they shared. The test footage shows that Momoa will capture these qualities well.

Although not much progress on Raven reboot since it was recently canceled, Hardy has stated that he has some hope of it getting back up and running one day. “It’s a story that I both love and love,” the director told ComicBook.Com, “and I have put three and a half years, four years of my life into love, and blood and sweat and tears, and I have lots of materials, so I don’t know if someday… I suppose I don’t really want to show them because I still believe there will be Crows at some point, but we’ll see. “

There was a 1994 live-action adaptation of Raven, but this new story is for a modern audience. Hardy intends to direct with a much darker setting to lean towards into the horror genre while keeping the most accuracy for comic source material.

With busy Momoa James Wan’s Aquaman 2, it doesn’t look like he’ll find time to rejoin The Crow reboot anytime soon. Hopefully the charisma this scene brings can breathe new life into IP. will bring a new movie for fans to see in theaters.

Raven available to stream on Paramount Plus.
