Washington Nationals Game Suspended After Gunshots


The baseball game between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Padres was halted Saturday night when a shooting incident erupted around Nationals Park.

The Padres were winning 8-4 when shots rang out from outside the stadium. The situation was confirmed by the DC Police Department, who reported that at least 4 people were injured.

The Nationals responded to the situation by initially asking spectators to stay in the park. However, the sounds caused a scene of panic as people started running or hiding.

The Nationals eventually advised their audience to leave while they cooperated with law enforcement.

The team released a longer statement later, confirming the match had been paused and would resume tomorrow afternoon.
