Washington Nationals Game Postponed After 4 People Shot Outside Stadium

The terrifying moment outside the National Park tonight during the Washington-San Diego Padres…after multiple people were shot, according to police.
The game was paused at the 6th round… after 4 players had already reported shot near the entrance to the 3rd facility side of the ballpark.
Washington DC police tweeted 2 victims lying outside the stadium … and 2 others entered the hospital with gunshot wounds. Police also said that there did not appear to be any ongoing threats.
It is not clear if the shooter is in custody.
Videos circulating on social media show a chilling scene… with panicked fans running from the area.

Fans are encouraged to leave the field via CF and RF ports at this time.

Some loud bangs were heard inside the stadium…and some fans started running to the exits. Other fans rushed into the field… not knowing where the threat came from.
Several players were seen running from the pitch, into the dugout and down the tunnel.
There are reports of an active shooter near National Parks in Washington DC
Fans are hiding under the seats
Helicopters are currently flying around the stadium

The Nationals announcer asked fans inside the stadium to stay calm… to explain the “incident” that happened outside.
The team released a statement addressing the situation, saying… “Tonight’s game was halted at the end of the 6th inning due to an incident around Nationals Park.”
The status of the victims is unknown at this time.
The match will continue tomorrow afternoon.
