Warzone is having an invisible gas bug

Call of Duty: Warzone players discovered an invisible gas bug was crashing the online game, one of the few reported glitches this week.
Call of Duty: Warzone Developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software, and published by Activision in early 2020 as a free-to-play battle royale title. The game supports between 150 and 200 players, depending on the game mode, and has over 100 million players by 2021 according to Activision. Call of Duty: Warzone was well received upon release, even nominated for Best Multiplayer and Best Ongoing at The Game Awards 2020.
However, Call of Duty: Warzone Players are reporting a new gameplay-breaking bug that is crashing online matches. This latest issue is one of the few to affect the game over the past week, having been plagued by a number of critical bugs since December. This latest issue has caused clouds of inorganic gas. figure, in what Call of Duty: Warzone fans are describing as a “ridiculous” bug.
In a post for Battlefield On Reddit, user mario135790 shared a video of the bug appearing invisible gas clouds causing damage to players. Usually, gas clouds appear as a distinct, green haze, allowing the player to identify a threat. In this case, not only are the gas clouds not visible, but the damage radius also appears to be glitched, affecting the player even when they’re not near the shrinking gas ring. Other players have posted evidence of a similar issue, which seems to happen randomly and with no apparent cause, potentially crashing online matches. The problem seems to particularly affect Robbery mode in Call of Duty: Warzone; some fans initially suspected something to do with the hack, while other reports suggest it could be linked to players using Stopping Power rounds.
Call of Duty: Warzone has had its fair share of recent problems. In December, another invisible damage issue occurred to the game, later involving an invisible Krampus from the Festive Fervor update, which would attack players indiscriminately. This week, players reported that Battlefield hackers flying around the map in Big Bertha trucks, another blow to the perceived effectiveness of the ailing Ricochet’s anti-cheat system. Players have also recently reported texture issues affecting console versions of the game, comparable to N64-era graphics.
Is it possible? Call of Duty: Warzone has been plagued with recent issues affecting Raven Software. Over the past two months, Raven Software QA testers have been outstanding and will now united as the Game Workers Union, believed to be the first to do so under Activision Blizzard. Meanwhile, Activision has been trying to solve hacking problems for Call of Duty franchise, recently sued major cheat provider EngineOwning as part of its efforts to bring these game-breaking issues under control. The company will need to move quickly to deal with hacks and glitches, such as those in Call of Duty: Warzone is starting to become a constant annoyance for players.
