Warhammer 3 leaks four new DLC factions

Creative Assembly, the developer of Total War: Warhammer 3, is accidentally showing some of the unannounced future DLC Chaos factions.

It’s no secret that Creative Assembly, the studio behind the widely acclaimed Total war Franchise, working on shooting Total War: Warhammer 3 into a massive, sprawling content platform that houses almost a decade of development in one campaign. The so-called Immortal Empires game mode will effectively combine the entire trilogy into a unified game experience, and modularity is a critical component of this project.

In that respect it was to be expected Total War: Warhammer 3 would get a whole library of massive post-launch DLC to support Immortal Empires for years to come. Now, however, it looks like Creative Assembly just gave its playerbase a first look at what some of these DLCs might be as part of its recent developer Q&A livestream.

Viewers spotted the four previously unannounced factions at 9:55 of the 16-minute video, and it seems like the focus is right on them Total War: Warhammer 3‘s chaos deities for now. The factions in question are Puppets of Misrule, Legion of the Gorequeen, The Ecstatic Legions, and the Fecundites, and precious little is known about them other than their titles and allegiances. Of course, it’s safe to assume that the Puppets of Misrule would fall under Tzeentch’s rule, but it’s yet to be seen who their leaders might be.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Creative Assembly hasn’t fully confirmed that these are DLC factions yet. The community is reasonably certain of this, but it’s recommended that fans have a pinch of salt in regards to its implementation and specifics until the developers themselves push forward with an official announcement. Something similar happened with the datamined TW: Warhammer 3 Chaos Dwarf faction that was obviously not present on the “leaked” list.

With Creative Assembly actively teasing fans with Immortal Empires, it’s also entirely possible that the four new Chaos factions were intentionally introduced as part of the Q&A stream to cheer players up. Finally, it took a keen eye to spot the unannounced factions, and the company has been known to occasionally provide hints of upcoming content for its ongoing titles.

Whatever the case may be Total War: Warhammer 3The faction roster of will continue to grow in the coming months and years. The upcoming Immortal Empires campaign promises to eclipse most other major strategy game modes with the sheer breadth of content on display, and it looks like Creative Assembly may yet be able to use the platform to virtualize all the important parts of the classic warhammer Fantasy tabletop.

Total War: Warhammer 3 is available on Mac, Linux and Windows PC. Immortal Empires launches on August 23rd.
