Warframe Developer and publisher Digital Extremes has announced new cross-play, cross-save, and expansion for the free-to-play title.
Title New War, the expansion as well as the aforementioned features will be available sometime in 2021. Digital Extremes has promised simultaneous launch on all platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
“Community is incredibly important to us, and crossplay expansion and cross save are just one of many more efforts we’ll be making to bring multiplayer together, including expanding Warframefast action, fluid combat experience for other global gaming platforms,” Digital Extremes CEO Sheldon Carter said in a press release. “We are in the early stages of the next generation of Warframe. We’re eight years young and it’s in our interest to start the second generation of consoles with a major game expansion that will also mark a new chapter with more story-based content our players demand. “
You can check out the 30-minute gameplay demo of New War below. The expansion will star Corpus Veso Engineer, Grineer Warrior Kahl-175, warrior Dax Teshin – all three of which are playable on a mission for the first time.

Prepare yourself, Tenno. The New War is coming, and no one is safe. Old enemies have returned to the System of Origin…will the factions unite against the advancing Ballas, Erra, and the Sentients, or must bear the weight of an all-out invasion?
