A demo for leaving Releases for PC today, a few weeks after PS5 players were given the trial version.
It is available through the Epic Games Store, Steam, and Windows Store.
In the PC demo, you will face a variety of enemies and test your fighting skills. This gives you a sense of the action that you will encounter throughout the game.
Forspoken puts players in the role of Frey Holland, a young woman who has been mysteriously transported to Athia. This fantastic land is being devastated by an unknown force called Break.
After witnessing this strange phenomenon, she finds herself armed with a magical, sentient bracelet called the Cuff. Frey offers Athia a glimmer of hope and must use her magical abilities to save the land and find her way home.
Forspoken reviews published today are out in the wild and are currently receiving mediocre ratings. There are some lows and highs, but the point average is somewhere in the middle. On OpenCritic, the game has an average score of 69/100 with a recommendation of 28%. The meta score on Metacritic is 68.
In our Forspoken VG247 review, James said the game is on “borrowed time” as it feels like “a new IP trying to play full-throttle alongside the hard-hitting franchises of other major publishers”. However, the combat system is “worth the effort to learn, but takes so long to get up to speed”.
Later this year, the In Tanta We Trust DLC will be released, and if you’ve pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition, you’ll get early access to this prequel story DLC when it’s available.
