Walter Presents is Channel 4’s specially curated international drama strand – here are all the new box sets to get excited about, from The Chalet to King of Warsaw

Walter Presents is Channel 4’s specially curated international drama branch, bringing Nordic crime dramas and Italian political thrillers to UK audiences since 2016.

Some of Walter’s previous shows that have proved particularly popular include the French series Time is a Killer, the Italian thriller The Hunter and the German drama Deutschland 83.

Here’s everything that’s currently announced as coming up on Channel 4’s Walter Presents.

What is Walter Presents?

Walter Presents is a specially curated showcase of award-winning foreign language drama. Each series is introduced by Walter Iuzzolino, the producer and a passionate drama fan who has teamed up with Channel 4 to provide a wider range of television programming for different audiences.

At All4 you can find Walter Presents dramas in boxsets. Individual dramas from Walter Presents also air on Channel 4.

What’s coming to Walter Presents in May?

The King of Warsaw ● Sunday, May 15th

It’s Warsaw 1937 and fascism is hanging over Europe. The Jewish mafia rules the city under the leadership of Buddy Kaplica, a Polish gangster socialist with connections to high office. His right hand is a ruthless Jewish boxer, Jakub Szapiro; Deep down, Jakub dreams of taking Buddy’s position and becoming the king of the mafia. Torn between loyalty to his boss and the chance to pursue his own ambitions, Jakub will rise to a decisive battle for power on the streets and be absorbed by the unrelenting world of sex and violence that encircles a mob -Starts a war that could determine the fate of Warsaw and the whole country.

Michal Zurawski, Lena Gora and Arkadiusz Jakubik star in this drama from creators Jan P. Matuszynski and Lukasz M. Maciejewski.

The Norse Murder Series 3 ● Friday May 13th

After the death of her daughter, former prosecutor Karin Lossow and her new accomplice, homicide detective Ellen Norgaard, are back to solve more crimes on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom. It’s tourist season in the Kaiserbad, and this year’s season has many 16-year-olds insane on drugs – until one of them is found dead in a sauna.

Katrin Saß and Rikke Lylloff are the stars of this series by Scarlett Kleint, Michael Illner, Alfred Roesler-Kleint and Andreas Herzog.

The Chalet ● Friday 27 May

A French thriller between two periods. In the summer of 2017, Adele and Manu are trapped in a newly renovated chalet; Twenty years earlier, the Rodier family disappeared without a trace from the same chalet. What is the connection between these two tragic summers?

Chloe Lambert, Phillippe Dusseau and Blanche Veisberg star in this series from Camille Bordes-Resnais and Alexis Lecaye.

The Wagner Method ● Friday 17 June

A French crime drama about hypochondriac police captain Cesar Wagner who returns to his hometown. Trying to impose his own distinctive style, Wagner unsettles not only the suspects but also the members of his own troupe. In his first case, Wagner ignores appearances and decides to solve the apparent accidental death of a rising star of domestic football.

Pierre Raby, Antonia de Rendiger and Etienne Diallo star in this drama from creators Sebastien Paris and Eric Verat.

Rig 45: Murdered at Sea ● Friday, June 24th

A claustrophobic thriller set on a remote oil rig in the North Sea. After a fatal accident on Rig 45, Benthos Oils sends its claims adjuster Andrea to the rig to document the accident. Arriving at the oil rig, Andrea quickly realizes that this will not be a routine investigation and Andrea begins to suspect that it might not have been an accident after all. Communications to the mainland are cut off by a suspected sabotage, and a hurricane makes transportation to and from the rig impossible. Andrea is stuck with a killer on board. But which of them is it, and will she catch them before there’s no crew left at all?

Lisa Henni, Gary Lewis (Billy Elliot, Gangs of New York) and Joi Johannsson star in this 6×60 minute Swedish drama from creators Ola Norén and Roland Ulvselius.

Where and how can I watch Walter Presents?

The King of Warsaw starts Sunday 15th May at 11pm on Channel 4, while series 3 of The Nordic Murders will air new episodes weekly on More4 from Friday 13th May. Both series are now available as box sets.

Rig 45: Murdered at Sea launches on More4 on Friday 24th June, with new episodes airing weekly or available as a box set on All4.

The collected works of Walter Presents are available as box sets on All4. 80 different dramas in different lengths and languages ​​are currently available through Walter Presents, from atmospheric German thrillers to haunting French crime dramas.

Who is Walter Iuzzolino?

Walter Presents’ Walter, Iuzzolino, is a television producer and drama fanatic. He selects the dramas to be screened as part of Walter Presents and serves as the curator for the strand. Iuzzolino founded Walter Presents with Jason Thorp and Jo McGrath.
