Wale Pulls Out of Broccoli City Festival: I Don’t Care About The Title, It’s About Respect!

Wales exclude yourself from the festival lineup.

Rapper DC Wales took to Twitter to announce that he would no longer be a part of the 2022 Broccoli City Festival. What started as a simple statement quickly became a Twitter storm. His first tweet read:

“I pulled out this program.”

When a fan asked for an explanation, the “Lotus Flower Bomb” rapper replied:

“Respect is why.”

Many fans speculate that Wales unhappy that he wasn’t among the festival’s featured people–21 Savage, Ari Lennox and Lil Durk.

He refuted that accusation with another tweet:

“I don’t care about the headlines. This is not about that. “

The City of Broccoli stepped in to defuse the situation:

We are trying to solve the problem @Wale– he is a great artist that we respect! We will solve something! That is love. We black he black – we all want to give the city vibes! ”

However, Wales did not directly respond.

He then declared:

“Since the BC festival started, I have never been asked to perform. I actually asked once but it didn’t happen. Game is game. I did not go. When I was in nigeria in December, someone on the booking agreed to some things that EYE didn’t agree with. Failure to communicate. Cool.”

He added:

“I have no problem with BC or anyone. Some people jumped guns and “yes for me”. I don’t care about throwing anyone under the bus. This happens all the time in this business. All those who don’t know know that I’d be performing at that business at 5 a.m. if that’s what the contract is. “

The Broccoli Festival will begin in Washington DC on May 7 and end on May 8. Rico Nasty, Jeezy, Summer Walker, Wizkid, and Gunna are listed as performers.
